Kitchen Countertop Material?

My wife is in love with the Absolute Black granite countertops. I've heard that granite is not as durable as some of the other materials and can crack or stain. I also heard that the darker the granite is more durable and less pourous Our options would Quartz (Silestone, etc), Granite, Corian or Mosaic. I searched everywhere in Corian and Quartz and despite what people say it does not look as good as the best granite, however, is more durable defiinitely. What is the best material to use to increase the value of the house if you are looking to sell in the next 5-10 years? It is also worth the extra money for an undermount sink if it has fallen enough? Thank you! beacause I heard that once you install the hob can not go back and get the undermount sink. If I do that the granite undermount increase the chances of water color?

Granite is very durable. As with the quartz product is made of quartz. The only most difficult thing is the diamond! Yes, it can break under certain circumstances, but so can Silestone and Cambria. Darker grains are harder and less porous that the lighter colors. Here is the abstract: Granite: A piece of a type that no one else will, durable, porous (can stain, and must be sealed or less each year - no big deal), very "green", well received in resale situations. Quartz: Moreover pattern with less movement, non-porous, can not be stained or scratched, the seal is not necessary, it has the depth of granite. It will also be well received in resale situations. Tile: Grout is a nightmare to clean - I would not recommend. Definitely put on the undermount sink! It's worth the extra money and gives the cleanest, high-end appearance. The reason you can not do below is that the sink cut-out must be polished to a receiver undermound - you do not need to be polished by a drop-in sink. In my experience, people that, like granite usually are not so thrilled with the products of quartz. To those who like a more coherent image, like quartz products better than granite. A Note on Absolute Black Granite: texture since there is little visual of this color, it does show fingerprints and dust more than other colors. If you get something with a larger grain "or" stain "on it, you'll have less maintenance to keep it clean. Good luck!
